Originally produced from 1972 to 1981 the Telecaster Deluxe is a beloved part of the Fender line. And while re-introduced in 2004, only the originals boast the fabulous Seth Lover designed humbucking pickups which have made these guitars so sought after.
The early 70s Telecaster Deluxe was Fender’s answer to the Gibson Les Paul. It is an extremely versatile guitar for those who may want the grunt, punch & power of a Les Paul, but with a Fender feel.
The Tele Deluxe certainly had a degree of familiarity for Gibson players – right down to the familiar Les Paul-style selector switch on the upper bass-side horn and separate tone and volume controls for each pickup – but was differentiated from the Kalamazoo product by its Poplar body, bolt-on one-piece Maple neck and Strat-style headstock shape.
The explosive sounding "wide range" pickups were specially designed for Fender by Seth Lover to top the humbuckers he designed for Gibson a few years before.
This guitar is in fine condition considering it has just had its 50th birthday. Except for a few expected small dings & scratches and some wear on the top edge, it presents pretty much as original to its early 1970s origins.
This is a true Fender classic from the Sexy Seventies when beats were big and so were collars, lapels, shoes and headstocks. It is a fat sounding, humbucking Fender in good condition, with balls to burn and tons of tone. It has lots of 'Gibsony' features but with that slinky Fender neck feel and 25.5” scale preferred by many top players.
This is a relatively early Tele Deluxe with a Natural finish presenting in wonderful condition. We believe everything on this one is in original condition with no changes or modifications carried out in its over 50 years. There are no breaks or repairs and no issues. Just set it up to your liking and rock on.
Comes in its original Fender hard shell case in great condition, original ashtray bridge cover and Fender swing tags from original purchase.
